Potomac Valley Standard Schnauzer Club

The Standard Schnauzer is a robust, heavy-set dog, sturdily built, with a dense harsh no-shed coat. A medium-sized dog, he is knee high and 35 to 45 pounds. The Standard Schnauzer combines a spirited temperament with extreme reliability. Excellent with children and friends, he is still the guardian of his home and family.

The club was founded 50 years ago as the AKC-sanctioned local specialty club for the greater Washington DC area and follow the code of ethics linked to the first paragraph of our Breeders page. The PVSSC is one of the breed’s largest and most active specialty organizations. In the past 50 years members have finished over 1000 AKC Champions and many obedience and performance titlists.

Topic: Election!

All nominees or their nominator must provide a letter/email to the PVSSC Secretary confirming that they are willing to serve, or they must state so at the April meeting.  Per the Constitution, nominees must have been a PVSSC member in good standing for at least a year.  

The Nominating Committee has proposed the following slate for our club’s 2023-2024 Officers and Board of Directors:

President: Lisa Klepp

Vice-President: Lovey Lyons

Secretary: Kelly Radcliffe

Treasurer: Marianna Herpel

Board (two-year term): Stephanie Blanks, Michelle Root, Pamela Minnich. Gail Mackiernan has a year left in her 2-year BOD term.

Submitted by PVSSC Nominating Committee: Chair Pamela Minnich, Pat White, and Michelle Root.

Additional Nominations can be made in accordance with the PVSSC Constitution. These can be made by letter/email submitted to the PVSSC Secretary or in person at the Saturday, April 22 Virtual Meeting, 7 pm on RingCentral.

Election for the PVSSC 2023-2024 Officers and Board will be at the May 21st in-person meeting at the PVSSC Supported Show, Carroll Co. KC, West Friendship, MD. (Meeting details will be emailed when available.)
